International Women's Day
March 08, 2024
For International Women's Day 2024, we are highlighting three of the amazing women working at Comet globally. To inspire young minds at the beginning of their careers or broaden the horizons of experienced individuals, we asked each of them a set of questions. Learn directly from Fe, Daniela, and PeiPei about what they do at Comet, their biggest strengths, and most importantly, the advice they would give to young women starting their careers.
Fe Gonzales
Production Supervisor
San Jose, US
How would you describe your job to someone in high school?
I’m overseeing the production process from start to finish. I get to solve problems and produce creative solutions with my resources. It’s exciting because I get to be part of building things that make a difference in people’s lives.
What is your biggest strength in the workplace?
In my job, part of my biggest strength is frequently communicating with my coworkers professionally; and being an attentive listener to the needs of my colleagues to respond to them accordingly.
What advice would you give young women at the start of their career?
Starting a career takes great patience and consistence, and you should put in the time and effort as needed, but at your own pace. It’s important to stay flexible and embrace challenges that may come up but that you are able to face and learn from.
Daniela Jakob
Order Management & Trade Compliance Specialist
Flamatt, Switzerland
How would you describe your job to someone in high school?
I process customer inquiries and concerns in close cooperation with the sales department. My job is to support the customer and ensure that everything runs smoothly until the product reaches the customer. As most customers come from abroad, we have to be familiar with the relevant export regulations, laws and provisions. This also includes coordination with logistics, including shipping, transportation and customs clearance.
I also take care of service and repair cases. To do this, I work together with the in-house repair team and technical customer service.
What is your biggest strength in the workplace?
I am good at dealing with people. I'm optimistic and open to new experiences. And I generally appreciate the exchange with other people and cultures.
What advice would you give young women at the start of their career?
Set yourself clear goals & challenge yourself - but always stay flexible and true to who you are.
The working world is constantly changing. It's important to be open to change and leave your comfort zone. Be ready to take on new challenges and learn from them. This allows you to grow beyond yourself and develop new skills.
PeiPei Goh
Senior Process Quality Engineer
Penang, Malaysia
How would you describe your job to someone in high school?
A quality engineer is like the superhero that ensures every cake is perfect and safe to eat. It’s a referee that ensures every bite is meeting Chef's intended taste and doesn’t have anything dangerous inside. At Comet, I ensure that everything we manufacture meets the highest standards. I’m a problem solver, overseer of standards and feedback guru.
What is your biggest strength in the workplace?
Collaboration and teamwork. I collaborate with colleagues to ensure that quality is embedded throughout the entire production process. We work together to ensure standards and the right mindset, collaborate to develop solutions and ideas for improving our products and manufacturing.
What advice would you give young women at the start of their career?
Being passionate and dreaming big. A passionate and ambitious mindset can turn your career into a fulfilling and purposeful journey. Your journey is unique, and each experience contributes to your growth.
Could this be you?
Let’s #InspireInclusion together.
We are looking for ambitious and passionate people who want to collaborate to make a difference.

At Comet, we believe progress starts with curiosity – and few frontiers spark it like space. That’s why we’re partnering with Project HERMES as a sponsor – supporting the student team at ARIS to build and launch a bi-liquid propulsion rocket at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) in 2025. If successful, it will be the first Swiss rocket of its kind to reach an altitude of 8000 m – a major milestone for student aerospace in Switzerland. From cryogenic propellants to guided recovery, HERMES is a showcase of what happens when curiosity meets collaboration. Just like in our own work, their success depends on precision, teamwork, and a drive to go beyond – values we share as they reach for the skies.
