Our local team stepped in to help children and families affected by the January 1st earthquake, donating necessary items to slowly rebuild a stable routine.

Kicked off on the 1st of April, we are working towards addressing the shortage of skilled talent in the rapidly expanding semiconductor industry as part of the ECDA project. We aim to promote diversity and inclusion in the European semiconductor industry, paving the way for a brighter future for all.

As part of this national event, eight students from grades 5 to 7 spent an exciting day at our Hamburg location, exploring the facility, discovering our technologies, and learning about the diverse career opportunities at Comet. This initiative is designed to spark curiosity, inspire future career choices, and ignite a lifelong passion for technology.

From May to June, 39 employees took part in the annual Bike to Work challenge, pedaling to work for a healthier and more sustainable world. Together, they covered 17’765 km and saved 2’557 kg CO2.

On August 8th, 33 employees in Penang participated in the carpool day, driving to work together and saving a total of 586.6 km and 82.1 kg CO2.

Under the August sun, 20 colleagues laced up their running shoes for a 5km relay in Hamburg Stadtpark. But this race wasn’t just about personal bests – it was also about giving back. For every registered team, a tree was planted, meaning their participation brought four new trees to life.

In early September, our DE&I team of North America took initiative to support children from low-income households and communities. They donated a total of 120 school supply kits to the Boys & Girls Club of Alvizio and 30 classroom headphones to the Valley United Way.

59 of our employees spent their Thanksgiving morning supporting local families in need by running (and trotting) in San Jose and remotely across the US. The annual event strives to uplift and improve the quality of life for underserved communities in Silicon Valley. To date, they have donated over $12 million to local non-profits, and we are proud to have helped add to that total this year.

Comet is going (back) to space

At Comet, we believe progress starts with curiosity – and few frontiers spark it like space. That’s why we’re partnering with Project HERMES as a sponsor – supporting the student team at ARIS to build and launch a bi-liquid propulsion rocket at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) in 2025. If successful, it will be the first Swiss rocket of its kind to reach an altitude of 8000 m – a major milestone for student aerospace in Switzerland. From cryogenic propellants to guided recovery, HERMES is a showcase of what happens when curiosity meets collaboration. Just like in our own work, their success depends on precision, teamwork, and a drive to go beyond – values we share as they reach for the skies.

Comet is proud to introduce the FYNE 160 NF4, our high-end open X-ray source designed for demanding high-resolution applications such as those of the semiconductor and electronics industries. Developed by our X-ray Modules team, FYNE is a breakthrough in precision inspection, offering nanoscale imaging capabilities for the growing volume of smaller, more powerful components.
