Comet is proud to introduce BLOX, our new digital health monitor for X-ray components, developed by our X-ray modules team. As the first solution of its kind in the field of non-destructive testing, BLOX brings the power of Industrial IoT (Internet of Things), data intelligence, and remote monitoring to one of Comet’s core technologies, and with it, opens new possibilities for smarter, more reliable inspection. By combining deep system insights with advanced analytics, BLOX enables customers to take action before issues escalate – a significant step toward predictive maintenance and a fully connected, data-driven future.

What happens when academia and industry come together to tackle one of the biggest talent challenges in Europe? In the European Chips Diversity Alliance (ECDA), partners from across the EU are working to open up the semiconductor industry to new, diverse talent. The employee initiative “100 ideas to tackle climate change” was launched at Comet in 2022. Now, another one of those ideas has become reality: the installation of a solar power system. With this step, we’re not only reducing our carbon footprint, but also turning employee-driven ideas into lasting impact. It’s a concrete move toward a more sustainable future – and a reminder that progress often starts with a single idea.

This past weekend, it was finally time: we, the apprentices at Comet, lined up at the starting line of the 6h de Fribourg – a national race held as part of the Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP). After weeks of designing, testing, and teamwork, the big moment had arrived. And while the race turned out very differently than we’d hoped, it became an experience we won’t forget anytime soon.

At Comet, we believe progress starts with curiosity – and few frontiers spark it like space. That’s why we’re partnering with Project HERMES as a sponsor – supporting the student team at ARIS to build and launch a bi-liquid propulsion rocket at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) in 2025. If successful, it will be the first Swiss rocket of its kind to reach an altitude of 8000 m – a major milestone for student aerospace in Switzerland. From cryogenic propellants to guided recovery, HERMES is a showcase of what happens when curiosity meets collaboration. Just like in our own work, their success depends on precision, teamwork, and a drive to go beyond – values we share as they reach for the skies.

Comet is proud to introduce the FYNE 160 NF4, our high-end open X-ray source designed for demanding high-resolution applications such as those of the semiconductor and electronics industries. Developed by our X-ray Modules team, FYNE is a breakthrough in precision inspection, offering nanoscale imaging capabilities for the growing volume of smaller, more powerful components.
